Stuck? Stop Trying to Solve the Problem

Feeling stuck can be one of the most frustrating experiences as a business owner.

The harder you try to push through, the more overwhelming it can make you feel.

Sometimes, the best way to get unstuck is to stop trying to solve the problem straight-on.

Here are 8 things you can do that can help you find clarity:

  1. Stop trying to fix it. Give yourself permission to stop over analyzing or forcing a solution. Pushing too hard narrows your perspective. Give yourself space for clarity to come up.

  2. See being stuck as a sign of growth. Resistance creates frustration. Embracing it allows you to focus on what it's teaching you.

  3. Focus on what you can't control. There will always be something that is beyond your control. By understanding what they are, you free yourself from focusing on it — allowing you to redirect your focus on what you can.

  4. Do less, not more. Scale back on tasks and responsibilities to reduce overwhelm. Overcommitment leads to mental clutter and stress. Simplify, simplify, simplify.

  5. Reconnect with your "why". Go back to the reason you've started the project in the first place. It'll help reignite your motivation and clarify your direction. And if it doesn't - that may be your answer why you haven't moved forward.

  6. Do something unrelated to your problem. Try a new activity. Breaking your routine disrupts your thought pattern and helps with creativity.

  7. Ask for a different perspective. Talk with someone who has not investment in your situation or outcome. It can reveal blind spots you didn't know you had or even considered.

  8. Take an intentional and manageable step. Progress requires movement, not perfection. Small wins creates confidence and energy to keep you moving forward.

What is one step you're willing to try?
