Is What You’re Avoiding in the 20%?
By now, you've heard of the 80/20 Rule - where 80% of your results come from 20% of your efforts.
That 20% often includes the tasks you're avoiding: the hard conversations, high-stakes sales calls, strategic business or partnering decisions, etc.
This is why most entrepreneurs get stuck doing "busy" work.
So the real question is...is what you're putting off part of the 20%?
Do you gravitate towards low priority tasks like checking emails, organizing your desk or color-coding your calendar?
Do you keep pushing back the same tasks because you know it'll take more time than you want?
Do you feel uncomfortable or self-doubt about it?
If you've answered yes to any or all of these...
Your avoidance is delaying your growth.
It's time to commit to the hard stuff first.
Identify those tasks you keep putting off.
Ask yourself which of those tasks has the potential to create the biggest impact.
Then, start small by breaking the task down into bite-sized steps.
Then, block out time to work on those tasks during the time when you have the highest energy.
Treat it as a non-negotiable.
What's something you've been avoiding because it feels too hard or uncomfortable? Could it be part of your 20%?
