The Cost of Not Investing in Yourself: What You Can’t Afford to Ignore

Not investing in yourself is the most expensive decision you'll ever make.

The cost isn't just financial—it's your growth, your potential, and your ability to achieve your goals.

When you don't invest in yourself, you'll find yourself stuck in the same cycles...

and if we're anything alike—you detest being stuck in the same cycle, especially one that drains your energy and limits your potential.

Even before I started on my coaching journey nearly 11 years ago, I consumed as much information as I could in the areas I was interested in.

My ROI on many of those things was exponential.

I'm not sure I'd be here if it weren't for my commitment to my growth.

Here are some ways you can invest in yourself:

Skill-Building and Education:

  • take an online course

  • read books in your area of choice

  • hire a coach or mentor

  • attend workshops or seminars

  • earn a certification

Networking and Community:

  • join a mastermind group

  • expand your network

  • collaborate with peers

Personal Development:

  • practice mindfulness or meditation

  • develop a morning routine

  • invest in self-care

  • work with a therapist or counselor

Tools and Resources:

  • invest in technology

  • create a workspace that inspires you

Reflection and Strategic Thinking:

  • do a self-audit

  • use journals or planners

  • take time for deep and big picture thinking

Other Investments:

  • delegate or outsource

  • invest in personal branding

  • join a subscription or membership

What else would you add to the list?

What is one area that you've been avoiding investing in? Whether financially or a commitment of your time?
