Your Plan Isn’t the Problem: Build Systems That Work
Many entrepreneurs will invest hours crafting detailed plans, but fall short when it comes to execution.
They rely on their motivation and willpower to get things done, but both are limited in resources.
Systems take the guesswork out of execution.
They create consistency, build momentum and ensure your actions align with your goals...even on rough days.
Systems create sustainable habits.
A plan tells you want to do, but a system turns your intentions into consistent actions.
Systems automate decisions, freeing your mental power for strategic thinking.
Plans rely on one-off bursts of effort.
Systems create repeatable progress.
To build a system that works:
Identify your goals and identify repetitive tasks.
If needed, use tools or software to automate or streamline your processes.
Test and tweak your system. Systems aren't static. Adjust as needed.
When designing your system, do so for consistency, not perfection.
Examples of systems in your business:
Lead generation: create a weekly system for engaging with potential clients.
Content creation: batch-create all social media posts on the first Monday of the month.
Client delivery: automate client onboarding with templates, checklists, and welcome emails.
Referral system: build a follow-up schedule for checking in with past clients and asking for referrals.
Review system: conduct a monthly business review to analyze progress and adjust strategies.
What's one area of your business that a system could replace reliance on willpower or motivation?
